Albums Listened To In March (97)

Sorry this has been delayed, I've been pulling 60+ hours as work every week and as such, when I get home all I want to do is relax. But today is my day off so I plan on getting caught up and writing some more posts. Several updates to be had in the near future.

Standouts
Artimus Pyledriver plays what seems to be AC/DC-inspired music with a southern twang to it. I was pleasantly surprised. Cloudkicker's EP, ]]][[[ (how do you pronounce that?) was something new, it's all instrumental, but it was an interesting beginning for a new band. I really liked a few songs from Giant Squid's second album, The Ichthyologist, quite a bit. Another band with a new sound, wouldn't mind hearing more.

Ho-Hum
I need to re-listen to the debut album by Black Tusk before I truly decide anything, it was pretty good but, like Baroness, it is outside of my usual music and I'm not sure if I liked it a lot, or just thought it was...something. The Original Slowhand And The Evil Minions was a letdown, you'd think a funk group by the lead singer of Kiuas would be something to hear, it wasn't. The title of the album is 'Bring The Funk Back. Please.' but I didn't hear funk within this album, so I don't know what they were going for exactly.

Complete Crap

The Dead Weather...horrible, I will never listen again. Sounds like Industrial mixed with garage/noise rock. Songs had no point and seemingly no musical tune - pass. The new Gorillaz album, Plastic Beach, was more like house music then the sounds they've put out before. I was looking forward to this new album, but I was far from pleased.
