These are just a few of the blogs that I frequent; either just to keep up with bands, get some new music, or hear what 'golden oldie' I might enjoy. These aren't reviews of the sites themselves, just sharing the love for my internet friends.
Basic Band Info: Good for new releases, tour dates, album reviews and the like
The Obelisk - Stoner, Doom, Sludge. Reviews and interviews.
Heavy Planet - Stoner, Doom, Sludge. Also has some nice weekly segments; a really good site to find new bands
The Metal Minute - Kind of defunct now, with the author working on other projects. but it is still a good place for interviews and album reviews
Psychotic Philosophy - Posts are few and far between but if you care to go back into the blog's history (4 years of it) you will find some gems. Some album reviews, but most is just the guy's favorite albums and bands
Hook In Mouth - All about new album releases and tour dates. Some interviews and reviews, and the occasional free and legal downloads. More of an emphasis on the thrash/core/death metals, but occasionally other music makes it through
Heavy Metal Time Machine - As the title suggests, this is a blog about the golden years of metal. Most of the articles are pretty short, so it's a good casual read. Frequent posts, and several running themes.
Heavy Metal 107 - A nice mix of the old and the new, with reviews of both eras. Another one with shorter articles for an easy read.
The Soda Shop - Newly discovered, not a whole lot of info on this one. I know they do a lot of new bands, mostly in the stoner genre. Reviews and interviews.
Downloads: Good way to discover new groups if you're ok with the questionable legality of it all.
Angry Chairs - The other blog I write for, an eclectic collection of all things metal. In the past it's mostly had a focus on doom/thrash/core/death/black metal, but with recent added staff (like myself) the website has become much more varied. Lots of albums to offer.
StonerRobixxx - The best that stoner rock/metal has to offer! Been going on a long time and has a great variety of the genre at your fingertips. Also has a nice showing of unsigned/unknown bands that send their EPs and demos in.
Stoner Rock Is Here To Stay - This one goes way back, and houses all things stoner. A lot of the older links have expired so it's kind of hard to go too far into this site's history, but they do post frequently. One thing I don't like is that neither the band or album name is often in the title of the posts, meaning you have to scour the post itself in order to figure out what you are looking at. Other then that it's all good
Chief Iron Lung Presents - A newcomer to the sharing field, Chief Iron Lung shares (almost all) new music from bands, mostly from the stoner genre, but it has gone into others on the occasion. For the first few months it was frequent posting, but I haven't seen anything new in a couple of weeks, so we'll see where this one goes.
Bob's Stoner Rock Blogs - This one goes back a couple of years, but not a whole lot of posts. Almost 3 years and only 40ish posts, so you aren't going to be getting a ton from Bob here. But some of the artists are difficult to find on other blogs so there is that.
Doomed To Be Stoned In A Sludge Swamp - Your place for all things doom, stoner, and sludge among others. Huge collection, lots of co-authors.
Get Off My Elevator - I just rediscovered this one, but I used to frequent it a year or two ago. Not a ton of posts but still a lot of different bands and styles for you to enjoy
Anyway, that's what I read, and that's where I get some of my stuff. Share, spread and grow!
